They need two different pneumococcal vaccines: pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV13) at the time the risk factor is recognized and pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine (PPSV23) at least 8 weeks later. This podcast will discuss how to identify these patients at high risk for pneumococcal disease and implement guidelines for administration of pneumococcal vaccination in this population.
